| We live in Colorado, in a suburb southwest of
Denver. Laura started researching Belgian Shepherd dogs as a member of the national
Belgian Sheepdog Club of America since 1976 and involved with
Schipperkes since 1997. Our dogs are all owner trained and handled,
participating in Mondioring, obedience and conformation competition. To date our exposure to Herding has been for instinct testing with just a spectator's eyes view of Agility. |
| Laura grew up in Hawaii, yet has lived more
years in Colorado, than in Hawaii. In her school age years, she spend
many hours at the local Humane Society, helping provide attention to all
the "residents". To increase her knowledge, she read every
book available in the local library. Laura's background is as a state
certified Animal Health Technician with experience primarily with
companion animals and in application development for intra/internet web
and manufacturing needs. She has been involved with training from puppy
classes and conformation to obedience. She loves working one on one
with new puppy owners. |
| Jerry, a Colorado native, enjoyed life with
several family dogs...3 little dogs. Once on his own, he obtained
"Shep" a white GSD. Though they didn't compete, he trained her
to be extremely obedient in everyday living. His background is in Real
Estate and Construction Management and is currently working with a leading telecommunication company.
Together, Jerry and Laura continue to expand a growing, independent
business while sharing life with family and friends. |
| Brian, Jerry's son, started his soccer career at age 4,
with his dad as coach. He is currently in college working on his studies
for Sports Medicine with aspirations of completing a Chiropractic degree
and practicing with a focus in naturopathies. His ideal companion is a yellow
Labrador Retriever or a Golden Retriever. |
| Bonnie, Jerry's daughter, is a vibrant student of the performing
arts. Since she was little, she has had the ability to creatively compose
songs, poems and stories. She had a natural gift of memorizing the
entire play, every one's parts and ques. Bonnie has a deep desire to
perform in a variety of acting roles. She designs her own clothes and
displays a creative ensemble of accessories. She is finishing her Senior
year at a focused Arts School. Her desired companion is a
Belgian Sheepdog (yea!) or Samoyed. |
| Both Brian and Bonnie have filled in as a
handlers in the breed ring. And perhaps one day we will see them in
competing with their own dogs for obedience titles, at least to begin
with.... |
